Artist’s Inspiration

“My paternal grandfather’s roots were in Scotland. He passed over to the next world when I was 4 years old. Over the years I have often felt his presence, which I am very grateful for. I want this painting to embody the Divine energy and beauty of the Scottish Highlands.

The Highland regions of the world are vast. The animals that live in these regions can roam huge distances if they wish to. It’s lovely to think about the freedom they have in their natural domain. I imagine the sights and the sounds they experience are very beautiful.

All the forms that spirit embodies appear within the eternal presence. It is this presence I wish to portray when I paint the natural world. I spent years seeking the Supreme Being, then I realised there is nothing else. It is here now, everywhere, the All in All.

I feel very fortunate to paint. There is so much beauty in this world and painting is a wonderful way for me to appreciate and respect the incredible artistry of the creator.”
